Description

Analyze high-throughput DNA sequencing data and perform basic data analysis to support product development, validation studies, and incoming experiment requests.
Move data through the analysis pipeline and proactively identify and implement improvements to production workflows.
Investigate and resolve technical issues related to data quality, analysis pipelines, and system integration.
Collaborate with biology, software engineering, lab operations, and medical/legal affairs teams.
Produce high-quality written documentation, including formal study plans and technical reports.
Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in paper and electronic formats while following privacy and security protocols.
Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy, security, and compliance training within the first 30 days and maintain ongoing training status.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related equivalent field.
2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline preferred.
Professional experience in the biotechnology, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Experience using Python for data analysis and plotting preferred.
Experience using Linux command-line tools and relational databases (SQL) preferred.
Knowledge of data visualization tools/platforms such as Plotly is a plus.
Knowledge of genomics, NGS analyses such as mapping and variant calling, and NGS file types is required.
Experience running pipelines and familiarity with pipeline platforms/languages such as WDL and Nextflow.
Ability to produce high-quality written documentation for varying audiences, such as validation reports.
Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), such as Claude Code, and how to use them to streamline workflows and tasks.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple objectives and timelines.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with potential for high impact in a small team.
Team-oriented, self-motivated, and detail-oriented mindset.
