Description

  • Lead the design and evolution of platform architecture for security, scalability, reliability, modularity, and cost efficiency.
  • Design microservices and platform features from concept through production-ready specifications.
  • Create technical designs for complex system components and develop proof-of-concepts in Golang.
  • Architect secure, fault-tolerant systems with automated failover, circuit breakers, and end-to-end encryption.
  • Analyze existing architecture and plan the gradual replacement of legacy components.
  • Plan implementation phases, migration strategies, feature deprecation timelines, and zero-downtime migrations.
  • Review and approve engineering architecture proposals and provide detailed feedback.
  • Lead architecture review sessions and facilitate technical decision-making across teams.
  • Partner with Product, Dev Leads, Security, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to establish platform-wide standards.
  • Write technical documentation such as ADRs, design docs, runbooks, API specs, and system diagrams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building scalable distributed systems, including 3+ years in System/Platform Architect roles.
  • Experience architecting both large microservice environments (100+ services) and monolithic applications.
  • Strong hands-on Golang coding skills and the ability to write production-quality code.
  • Experience with Protocol Buffers, gRPC, WebSockets, Kafka event streaming, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, data encryption, public key cryptography, and zero-trust architecture.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and distributed systems patterns such as Saga, circuit breakers, and retries.
  • Experience with systems handling millions of requests or events per day.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience planning phased implementations and leading complex cross-team projects.
  • Track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Ability to facilitate architectural decision-making, create technical roadmaps, and perform cost analysis.
  • Mentorship mindset and experience with AI-assisted workflows for system analysis and identifying inconsistencies or corner cases.
  • Preferred experience with Ruby, Rust, Python, Java, C++, or Kotlin-multiplatform.
  • Preferred experience with advanced security tools such as HSM, AWS KMS, Vault, and specific crypto algorithms.
  • Preferred experience with service mesh tools, NoSQL databases, Redis clustering, and stream processing tools such as Flink or Spark.
  • Preferred cloud and compliance experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or SOC2.
  • Preferred open source contributions, conference speaking, or technical writing experience.
