Description

  • Set the team’s technical strategy over a year-long horizon and connect it to business-critical projects.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes that increase team effectiveness.
  • Own service operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call support.
  • Establish code review and design standards and promote engineering quality through writing and technical talks.
  • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
  • Participate in the required on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
  • Extensive experience building highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through technical and execution planning.
  • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code that is understandable and reusable by others.
  • Comfort working across low-level language details and large-system architecture in ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated growth through gathering and applying feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with global engineering teams.
  • Ability to be based in Spain; visa sponsorship is available.
