Description

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions for the Whitespace Answers Platform and Iris AI ecosystem.
  • Build backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and analytic applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and testable code primarily in Python and Java.
  • Collaborate across Agile teams to solve complex geospatial and data-centric problems.
  • Participate in software releases, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes.
  • Improve existing applications through performance optimization, automation, and architecture enhancements.
  • Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support for software and infrastructure issues.
  • Collect, integrate, clean, and analyze large-scale geospatial and non-geospatial datasets.
  • Develop statistical models, machine learning workflows, and geospatial analytics solutions.
  • Create interactive visualizations and mission-focused analytic products for customer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a software engineering role.
  • Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software.
  • Strong coding ability with emphasis on quality and testability.
  • Experience using Java, Python, and Go.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and software configuration management tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization.
  • Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred).
  • Experience building geospatial web applications and APIs (preferred).
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive analytics (preferred).
  • Experience with GeoPandas and GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, or QGIS (preferred).
  • Experience with satellite imagery, remote sensing, GEOINT, or commercial geospatial data (preferred).
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Athena, EMR, BigQuery, or similar large-scale data processing platforms (preferred).
  • GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC) or related certification (preferred).
