Description

  • Prospect and generate a self-sourced pipeline through outbound cold calling, email outreach, and lead development across the territory.
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract close on net-new accounts.
  • Build and manage relationships with facility managers, operations leaders, and financial decision makers at target organizations.
  • Educate prospective customers on Voltus demand response programs and translate grid economics into operational and financial value.
  • Meet activity-based expectations during ramp and transition into full quota-carrying performance.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for pipeline data, forecasting, and deal activity.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and peer Sales Directors to share market intelligence and improve outreach and close rates.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States within one of the listed open territories.
  • Must be authorized to work from the home location; Voltus does not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires.
  • Proven track record of self-generated outbound prospecting and closing net-new business.
  • Phone-based cold calling experience is core to this role; candidates focused only on inherited books of business are not a fit.
  • Experience selling into commercial and industrial accounts.
  • Existing relationships with hospital groups, universities, large manufacturers, or municipalities in the open territories are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with energy markets, brokers, or C&I energy buyers is preferred but not required.
  • Coachable, feedback-oriented, and comfortable with self-direction during ramp.
  • Some travel required.
  • Experience working with CRM tools and maintaining pipeline/forecasting data.
