Description

  • Support the evaluation, negotiation, structuring, and closing of transactions with moderate independence and close partnership with senior business development leadership.
  • Develop business cases for new opportunities to support decision-making and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Lead and support assessment of mergers and acquisitions opportunities, including target identification, evaluation, and strategic fit analysis.
  • Support diligence and post-transaction integration activities to ensure a smooth transition and value realization.
  • Translate unmet customer and market needs into potential new business arrangements such as licensing, OEM, development, supply, and co-promotion.
  • Manage select business relationships and provide strategic input to internal and external partners on licensing and alliance matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research, product development, finance, operations, legal, marketing, and commercial teams to assess opportunities and implications.
  • Gather market intelligence through literature, patents, press releases, conferences, trade shows, and networking.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of business development processes, deal structures, and contracting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of business experience, or an MBA/other advanced degree with at least 7 years of relevant partnering, licensing, business development, mergers/acquisitions, consulting, or banking experience.
  • Significant expertise in project management and contract negotiation.
  • Technical acumen in biology, genomics, and NGS, with experience in oncology and/or molecular diagnostics.
  • Strong business judgment, negotiation, analytical decision-making, and executive functioning skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence business leaders internally and externally.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and supporting senior leaders in high-impact business development activities (preferred).
  • Prior exposure to M&A or complex strategic partnerships, with increasing responsibility over time (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $193,000–$265,000 USD, depending on location.
  • Potential eligibility for additional discretionary bonuses and incentives.
