Description

  • Collaborate with feature development teams to promote new component versions into production.
  • Maintain the system to agreed service levels and availability objectives using monitoring tools and metrics.
  • Instrument new system metrics and alerts to pre-empt issues and improve performance.
  • Respond to monitoring alerts and customer incidents with preventative and remedial actions.
  • Liaise with customer stakeholders to schedule capability changes and capture new service requirements.
  • Apply automation techniques to reduce the burden of manual operations.
  • Maintain a continuous deployment pipeline.
  • Use configuration management tools to ensure deployments are consistent and correctly configured.
  • Verify that components meet SLA and SLO requirements.
  • Restore service quickly and minimise customer impact when issues occur.

Requirements

  • £70,000 - £85,000 salary.
  • Fully remote working.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Experience with Docker containers and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker Swarm.
  • Experience using and maintaining CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Linux command-line, administration, and shell scripting experience.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring, auto-scaling, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Working knowledge of network security protocols.
  • Working knowledge of AWS.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as InfluxDB, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Experience working in a managed service environment (desirable).
  • Experience using, developing with, and maintaining cloud hosting services, ideally AWS EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda (desirable).
  • Experience with event-driven integration using MQ messaging such as RabbitMQ or similar AMQP solutions (desirable).
  • Knowledge of cross-domain principles and technologies (desirable).
  • Industry experience writing well-tested code in Java, Go, Python, or similar (desirable).
  • Eligibility for BPSS, SC, or DV clearance, including UK Government residency and right-to-work requirements.
