Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex data models in the Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Build and maintain dbt-based data pipelines, transformations, testing, and documentation.
  • Leverage Snowflake Intelligence features to enable conversational queries and AI-driven insights.
  • Write advanced SQL queries to analyze large and complex datasets.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards and LookML for business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
  • Write Python code for data analysis, processing, and workflow automation.
  • Use shell scripting, command-line tools, and Airflow-based scheduling to support data workflows.
  • Create visualizations and presentations that communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current on analytics, data engineering, dbt, Snowflake, and BI best practices and apply improvements to the analytics stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics or a related field, with exposure to AI and machine learning applications in analytics.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience optimizing complex queries on large-scale datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) for building, testing, and documenting data models.
  • Expert-level knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse concepts such as star schema, normalization, and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud and familiarity with Snowflake Intelligence features such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, and AISQL is highly preferred.
  • Strong Looker and LookML skills, or experience with similar BI tools.
  • Experience with AI agents or generative AI tools to optimize workflows and service delivery is a plus.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Spark Streaming.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation, plus shell scripting and command-line tools.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, plus Docker for local development and testing.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, especially AWS or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of Git and CI/CD processes in a data engineering context.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and fast-paced iterative environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience implementing data governance best practices and knowledge of data ethics, bias mitigation, and privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in data community initiatives.
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques in analytics, including predictive modeling, and using MLOps/DataOps practices.
  • Strong statistical and probability background, including experience with A/B testing or experiments.
  • Knowledge of additional languages such as R, Scala, Julia, or Spark SQL.
  • Certifications in relevant data technologies or cloud platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, GCP, or Looker.

  • Base salary range of $73,800 to $82,000 CAD for Canadian residents, with compensation varying by location, experience, and qualifications.
