Description

  • Own the transformation layer by designing, building, and maintaining scalable data models using dbt and SQL.
  • Support business needs ranging from monthly financial reporting to near-real-time operational metrics.
  • Set and enforce best practices for data modeling, testing, monitoring, and discoverability.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, customer success, marketing, data engineers, data scientists, and business users to gather requirements and deliver data products.
  • Integrate data models with BI tools and reverse ETL systems to enable consistent metric reporting.
  • Champion robust development practices, including change management, source control, code reviews, and data monitoring.
  • Identify and implement improvements to data warehouse performance and ETL efficiency.
  • Work with GCP-based, open-source data infrastructure using dbt and Trino.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering with a strong focus on transformation in ELT.
  • Proven experience owning data products end-to-end and building scalable, high-quality data models.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and taking ownership with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert-level SQL and dbt skills for complex queries and data transformations.
  • Proficiency in Python for transformations beyond SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with query optimization across OLTP and OLAP systems such as Postgres and Iceberg.
  • Experience with semantic layer modeling tools such as Cube or dbt Semantic Layer.
  • Experience owning CI/CD workflows and establishing standards for version control and code review, including Git.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
  • Experience with data ingestion tools such as Airbyte and orchestration tools such as Airflow, preferred.
  • Domain experience in brokerage operations or interest in financial markets and financial data modeling, preferred.
