Description

  • Identify problems worth solving, define requirements, and own features from problem statement through production deployment.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the API server and backend systems, serving as the team’s backend anchor.
  • Make engineering decisions considering multiple quality dimensions (user impact, failure tolerance, maintenance, security, performance, implementation time).
  • Implement quality gates and improve agentic-driven processes, workflows, and platform tooling.
  • Prototype and experiment rapidly to evaluate solutions in the fast-moving agentic AI space.
  • Collaborate across the full stack (backend, frontend, infrastructure) and with stakeholders to analyze features and suggest alternatives that deliver business value.
  • Monitor product quality, raise awareness of technical issues, resolve bugs, and assist platform/tooling users with incidents.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize technical debt and architecture or product areas needing improvement, and propose remediation.
  • Mentor teammates, surface systemic challenges to management, and contribute to improving team processes and practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years working with systems-level or backend technologies such as Rust, Go, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience with async web frameworks (Axum, Actix, Warp, Tokio ecosystem, or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and caching layers (Redis) is required.
  • Experience with authentication/authorization systems (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OIDC) is required.
  • Experience with WebSocket or other real-time communication protocols is required.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) and familiarity with Kubernetes/Helm is a plus.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Practical experience using agentic development tools/practices (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Gemini-cli, OpenCode, pi-agent, or similar) for routine work or automation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of functional and object-oriented programming, automated software testing and testing methodologies; outstanding written and verbal communication; ability to work autonomously, unblock yourself, and be a collaborative team player. Note: this is a remote role targeting East Europe and South America candidates; no visa sponsorship or assistance provided, and resumes/communication must be in English.
