Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integration layers for core product features.
  • Review design documents and contribute to implementation decisions with other technical teams.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable code that follows established standards and best practices.
  • Improve code quality, performance, and security through thorough code reviews.
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries for high performance and system reliability.
  • Contribute to testing infrastructure to improve backend code coverage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development and production environments.
  • Improve monitoring and alerting for backend modules to support proactive availability and response-time enhancements.
  • Help advance engineering processes and standards while supporting business objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala.
  • Experience with a web framework such as Spring.
  • Experience building and launching large-scale consumer applications on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Experience working with microservices architecture.
  • Expert knowledge of REST API design and development for mobile and web use.
  • Expert knowledge of architecture and system design.
  • Expert proficiency in Agile development processes.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a drive for independent learning and work.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with MariaDB, Kafka, and production monitoring tools such as SumoLogic, Kibana, basic APM tools, and OpenTelemetry (nice to have).
