Description

  • Build, maintain, and evolve backend systems supporting personalization and recommendations at Spotify scale.
  • Develop infrastructure for efficient retrieval, ranking, and filtering of personalized content.
  • Build platform capabilities for candidate generation and content and user representations.
  • Design reliable, scalable, and performant services for high-volume recommendation workloads.
  • Partner with engineers and teams across Spotify to develop reusable platform solutions.
  • Improve system reliability, observability, maintainability, and operational performance.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Independently own engineering projects while collaborating across teams.

Requirements

  • Professional experience building and operating backend systems in production.
  • Experience with distributed systems, APIs, data-intensive applications, or large-scale service architectures.
  • Experience designing systems where reliability, latency, and scalability are important.
  • Ability to own engineering projects independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Interest in infrastructure supporting recommendation and personalization systems.
  • Machine learning experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to write maintainable code and make thoughtful technical decisions.
  • Experience solving platform-level problems for systems used by other engineering teams.
