Description

  • Lead growth of the customer base in the education and government sectors, including colleges, universities, and federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with new and existing customers to create revenue opportunities.
  • Pursue leads and manage them through the full sales cycle, including closing sales and resolving issues.
  • Monitor market trends, research opportunities, and evaluate competitor strategies to support sales planning.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, including outreach through networking, cold calling, tradeshows, and conferences.
  • Plan and support integration with key Trades services platforms to expand share of wallet for trade customers.
  • Engage customers by phone and email to understand needs, answer questions, and communicate product and service value.
  • Manage the bid process end-to-end for education and government contracts while ensuring compliance.
  • Create, update, and manage sales reports and prospective client lists, and submit management reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Experience, IT, Product Management, Customer Service, Merchandising, and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Account Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with academic institutions and/or government organizations, such as co-ops and GPOs.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships.
  • Strong critical and creative thinking skills with proficiency in spreadsheet-based analysis and data manipulation.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay flexible in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Preferred: Product knowledge in the trades, especially plumbing, HVAC/heating, and electrical.
  • Preferred: Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce for tracking outreach and sales leads.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship is available.
  • Must live in or be open to relocating to one of the listed remote states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington.
  • Ability to travel within the continental U.S. up to 30% of the year, including up to 3 trips annually to Melville, NY.
