Description

  • Manage the full retail sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through closing new wholesale partnerships.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with retail buyers, category managers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, and existing retail contacts.
  • Present licensed programs, private label collections, and proprietary product lines to retail buyers.
  • Secure new wholesale accounts across big-box, specialty, and regional retail channels.
  • Grow existing accounts by increasing product placement and reorder volume.
  • Align product presentations with retailer seasonal calendars and line review schedules.
  • Maintain CRM records, pipeline reporting, and sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate internally on pricing, product availability, timelines, and fulfillment requirements.
  • Monitor retail trends, competitor activity, and consumer demand to inform product development and assortment planning.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience in wholesale, consumer products, home goods, retail, or related industries.
  • Existing buyer relationships with major or regional retail buyers are required.
  • Proven success managing a full-cycle sales process with long deal cycles of 12–18 months.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and video presentation tools such as Vidyard or Loom.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel for buyer meetings and trade shows.
  • Experience selling consumer products, home goods, ceramics, giftware, or housewares is preferred.
  • Background presenting product lines, catalogs, or showroom collections is preferred.
  • Experience working with licensed brands or private label programs is preferred.
  • Established network of retail buyers or distributors is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $70,000–$100,000 depending on experience.
  • Uncapped commission on closed wholesale orders.
  • Estimated on-target earnings of $90,000–$150,000+.
  • Commission opportunities on new retail accounts.
  • Commission opportunities on reorder volume from existing accounts.
