Description

  • Lead data-driven discussions with existing and prospective merchants on payment optimization opportunities.
  • Provide the Sales team with tools and training to discuss optimization strategies with merchants and prospects.
  • Serve as an internal and merchant-facing subject matter expert on payment optimization strategies.
  • Build optimization narratives and tools supported by rigorous analysis.
  • Use existing tools to deploy optimization playbooks and analyses across Stripe’s customer portfolio.
  • Synthesize customer feedback and analysis to inform Stripe’s product roadmap.
  • Provide feedback on tools and playbooks to improve self-serve offerings.
  • Collaborate with Sales to help differentiate Stripe in deal conversations.
  • Partner with Customer Success to help merchants succeed with Stripe.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in payments or operations at a leading technology company, or in consultancy within the payments industry.
  • Deep expertise in card network costs at the acquirer level.
  • Deep expertise in interchange and scheme fees at the merchant level.
  • Understanding of e-commerce payments, card-based payment processing, and optimization strategies.
  • Understanding of card network rules and regulations, local payment methods, and the regulatory environment, including PSD2/PSD3.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to act as a self-starter and drive business results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience presenting directly to merchants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data processing, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with SQL, dashboard building, modeling, or reporting is preferred.
  • Experience presenting to senior business leaders is preferred.
