Description

  • Lead engineering teams delivering web and mobile experiences across the customer lifecycle, from vehicle discovery and purchase through ownership and service.
  • Define engineering strategy, architecture, roadmaps, investment priorities, and execution plans for customer-facing platforms.
  • Oversee digital commerce capabilities including vehicle configuration, reservations, checkout, financing, trade-in, delivery scheduling, and post-purchase journeys.
  • Lead mobile platform development for vehicle access, controls, charging, notifications, service interactions, and connected experiences.
  • Partner with Product, Growth, Marketing, Analytics, Sales, Operations, Vehicle Engineering, IT, Legal, and external partners to deliver business outcomes.
  • Build and scale engineering leadership through hiring, coaching, succession planning, and organizational development.
  • Improve web performance, accessibility, SEO, reliability, resiliency, observability, and overall digital experience quality.
  • Own operational planning, capacity management, prioritization, vendor relationships, delivery execution, and engineering health metrics.
  • Drive experimentation, A/B testing, personalization, analytics, and data-informed improvements to conversion, engagement, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure customer-facing applications meet security, privacy, compliance, data governance, regional expansion, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of multiple engineering teams or engineering managers in complex technology organizations.
  • Experience influencing business strategy, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering outcomes across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong experience with web front-end frameworks, responsive UI, and highly interactive, performant marketing and e-commerce platforms.
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile application frameworks.
  • Experience with web and mobile analytics, experimentation platforms, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience leading managers, senior managers, principal engineers, and cross-functional engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering organizations and senior technical leadership.
  • Experience with organizational planning, prioritization, resource management, large-scale technology investments, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Strong knowledge of performance engineering, accessibility, SEO, customer experience technologies, and consumer-facing digital commerce; automotive, retail, payments, financing, CRM, ERP, DMS, order management, or AI-enabled organization experience preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely from the Fremont, California location, attend occasional in-office meetings, and travel periodically for workshops, planning, vendor meetings, testing, and company events.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $210,000–$255,000; California, Washington, and New York range of $231,000–$280,500.
  • Annual performance bonus eligibility.
