Description

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Partner with the CTO and cross-functional leaders to define technical strategy and the engineering roadmap.
  • Own execution across multiple engineering teams, ensuring high-quality delivery with speed and predictability.
  • Translate customer and business needs into effective technical strategies and solutions with Product and Design.
  • Provide technical leadership for architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and engineering quality.
  • Improve systems, development practices, engineering processes, and organizational standards as the company scales.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain engineering managers, senior technical leaders, and other exceptional talent.
  • Identify and remove technical and organizational bottlenecks.
  • Balance near-term product delivery with long-term investments in infrastructure, architecture, and technical quality.
  • Help ensure reliable and secure operations for a financial services organization serving millions of customers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering teams and organizations.
  • Experience managing and developing engineering managers and senior engineers.
  • Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Track record of building and scaling reliable, customer-facing software products.
  • Experience designing distributed systems and evolving engineering organizations during growth.
  • Strong technical judgment and pragmatic architecture and technology decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong product sense and ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
  • Hands-on, low-ego leadership style with strong ownership and execution.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, payments, lending, or regulated financial systems is preferred.
  • Experience with consumer-scale, mobile-first products and rapid organizational growth is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, modern distributed systems, and balancing security, compliance, reliability, and product velocity is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Kotlin, React Native, TypeScript, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Postgres, JOOQ, BigQuery, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
