Description

  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop a global team of Strategic Account Managers across the US, Europe, and international markets.
  • Define and implement a scalable strategic account management framework, including account planning, engagement cadences, and expansion playbooks.
  • Drive net revenue retention and growth across strategic accounts and ensure customers realize measurable value from the platform.
  • Establish and manage KPI cadences to track performance and support predictable revenue growth.
  • Own top-line performance for critical accounts and personally engage in the most important customer relationships.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and serve as a senior escalation point.
  • Partner with the CCO and commercial leadership to set targets, prioritize initiatives, and report on portfolio health.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to identify customer needs, expansion opportunities, and market intelligence.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing account management talent across geographies.
  • Drive operational excellence through CRM use, pipeline hygiene, and consistent reporting standards.
  • Represent Sapio at industry events, customer meetings, and executive briefings as a senior commercial leader.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in strategic account management, customer success, or enterprise sales within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated mastery of complex enterprise software sales and commercial negotiation on large, multi-year deals.
  • Fluency in one or more recognized sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, Challenger, or Force Management.
  • Experience leading and scaling account managers or customer success teams, ideally across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • Proven track record of delivering targets, driving net revenue retention, expansion, and long-term customer value in complex enterprise accounts.
  • Experience working with or selling to customers in life sciences, biopharma, diagnostics, or adjacent sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, ELN, or broader lab informatics solutions is advantageous.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and hold a distributed team accountable.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage credibly with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen with strong account planning, renewal management, expansion, analytical, reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, influence without authority, and operate in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the US and to Europe.
  • Remote role based on the East Coast of the United States.
