Description

  • Design, implement, and administer VMware environments.
  • Provision and configure new systems, including IPMI setup, ESXi installation, and VMware cluster configuration.
  • Administer and monitor the health of systems infrastructure.
  • Maintain infrastructure that supports Engineering and other departments across Rubrik.
  • Prepare and present weekly status reports on assignments and projects.
  • Implement changes in the production environment according to change management guidelines.
  • Respond to outages within SLA/OLA timelines and deliver detailed post-mortem reports.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Systems, Network, and Security teams as needed.
  • Evaluate supplier products and make recommendations on products and services.
  • Troubleshoot support queue issues, identify root causes, and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Document tasks, procedures, and environments for systems setup and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of systems administration experience.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting VMware environments.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware and Linux technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of VMware products and troubleshooting.
  • General to advanced knowledge of automation and tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware in rack and blade form factors.
  • Ability to work on-call and address issues during normal working hours or after hours as needed.
  • Proven documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, DHCP, DNS, NFS, SMB, One FS, Purity FS, FC, iSCSI, and scripting such as Python or shell.
  • Familiarity with Rubrik backup solutions is a plus.
  • Experience with AIX/Linux operating systems administration is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions such as AWS S3 and Glacier is a plus.

  • Base salary range of $154,300 to $231,500 USD.
