Description

  • Serve as the highest-level technical authority for core IT systems, platforms, and infrastructure.
  • Architect, design, and govern large-scale IT environments across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, and SaaS ecosystems.
  • Own enterprise technical standards, reference architectures, and design patterns to ensure scalability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Lead major migrations, platform transitions, and incident remediation efforts.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical production issues and drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Improve operational excellence through automation, reliability engineering, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and SRE teams to ensure regulatory, privacy, and security requirements are met.
  • Influence executive stakeholders with technical guidance, trade-off analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Mentor senior and junior IT engineers and analysts to raise technical standards and accountability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT support and systems maintenance, preferably in a fast-paced startup or aerospace environment.
  • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, highly available, secure enterprise IT environments.
  • Deep knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, networking, security best practices, and system performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, configuration management, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technically without direct authority and influence teams and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills with a track record of resolving complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Proven experience working with mission-critical and sensitive systems with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science or engineering (preferred).
  • Technical certifications such as Network+, MCSE, or Security+ (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of company information (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license due to ITAR requirements.
