Description

  • Oversee and manage multiple software engineering teams to ensure efficient execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers to support leadership growth and career development.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent to build high-performing, diverse teams.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative engineering culture that promotes ownership, teamwork, diversity, and collaboration.
  • Drive proactive problem-solving and rapid resolution of client-facing production issues.
  • Develop and communicate the long-term technical vision and strategy in partnership with C-level leaders.
  • Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize the engineering roadmap and allocate resources effectively.
  • Plan and manage the engineering budget while balancing project needs and cost constraints.
  • Ensure teams follow engineering processes and standards, including Scrum, automated testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service-oriented architecture practices.
  • Continuously improve development processes to reduce bottlenecks and strengthen collaboration across teams.
  • Oversee the design and development of advanced software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers and meet fault-tolerance requirements.
  • Communicate progress, technical challenges, and outcomes to executive leadership.
  • Align product, operations, and business stakeholders on technical initiatives and manage expectations.
  • Interface with key clients, partners, and external stakeholders as needed to support product delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development within the SaaS industry.
  • Experience with AWS data services.
  • Strong SQL skills at scale with columnar or analytical query engines such as Redshift or BigQuery.
  • Experience designing data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with data lake patterns.
  • Familiarity with streaming or near-real-time data patterns such as Kafka or Kinesis.
  • Demonstrated ownership of data quality, governance, and schema management.
  • Proven ability to build and retain engaged, high-performing software development teams.
  • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle of SaaS applications at scale.
  • Experience navigating a fast-paced industry such as e-commerce and delivering products that gain market share.
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to improve communication, analysis, prompt engineering, or documentation.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field preferred.
  • Experience with web development, web services, and distributed processing models preferred.
  • Experience scaling applications in AWS and on-premise preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with agile practices such as Kanban and Scrum preferred.
  • Proven ability to build distributed, fault-tolerant software that scales to dozens or hundreds of servers preferred.
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, online marketplaces, or digital marketing preferred.
  • Databricks experience, ideally including medallion architecture, preferred.
  • SQL Server background preferred.
  • Experience building internal data products or self-serve analytics platforms preferred.
  • Exposure to LLM tooling, vector databases, or data pipelines that support agentic systems preferred.
  • BI tooling proficiency such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Base salary range of $175,000 to $328,000 per year.
