Description

  • Oversee and manage multiple software engineering teams to ensure efficient execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and career development support to engineering managers and senior engineers.
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, and retention efforts to build high-performing, diverse engineering teams.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and innovative engineering culture that encourages ownership, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Develop and communicate the long-term technical vision and strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Work with C-level executives to translate business needs into actionable engineering plans.
  • Collaborate with product management to prioritize the engineering roadmap and allocate resources effectively.
  • Plan and manage the engineering budget while balancing project needs and cost constraints.
  • Ensure team adherence to software development processes and standards, including Scrum, automated testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Continuously improve development processes to increase efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and strengthen collaboration across teams.
  • Oversee the design and development of advanced software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers and meet fault-tolerance requirements.
  • Communicate progress, technical challenges, and outcomes to the executive team and other stakeholders.
  • Interface with clients, partners, and external stakeholders when needed to support technical delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development within the SaaS industry.
  • Experience with AWS data services.
  • Strong SQL skills at scale with columnar or analytical query engines such as Redshift, BigQuery, or equivalent.
  • Experience with data warehouse design and ETL/ELT pipeline architecture.
  • Experience with data lake patterns.
  • Familiarity with streaming or near-real-time data patterns such as Kafka, Kinesis, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ownership of data quality, governance, and schema management.
  • Proven ability to build and retain engaged, high-performing software development teams.
  • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle of SaaS applications at scale.
  • Experience delivering products in a fast-paced, dynamic industry such as e-commerce.
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to improve communication, analysis, prompt engineering, or documentation.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Experience with web development, web services, and distributed processing models (preferred).
  • Experience scaling applications in AWS and on-premise environments (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills (preferred).
  • Familiarity with agile practices such as Kanban and Scrum (preferred).
  • Experience building scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant software for dozens or hundreds of servers (preferred).
  • Experience with e-commerce, retail, online marketplaces, or digital marketing (preferred).
  • Databricks experience, ideally including medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) (preferred).
  • SQL Server background (preferred).
  • Experience building internal data products or self-serve analytics platforms (preferred).
  • Exposure to LLM tooling, vector databases, or data pipelines that feed agentic systems (preferred).
  • BI tooling proficiency with Tableau, Looker, or Power BI (preferred).

  • Expected base salary range of $175,000-$328,000 per year.
