Description

  • Define and drive the engineering strategy and roadmap for the assigned area in alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with product, architecture, and executive leadership to turn strategy into actionable execution plans.
  • Build, inspire, and scale high-performing engineering teams while fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish operational mechanisms that enable predictable, high-quality delivery across complex, distributed systems.
  • Make investment trade-offs, prioritize resources, and protect long-term technical health and system reliability.
  • Mentor engineering leaders and cultivate talent across the organization.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and engineering best practices across teams and functions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles at Director level or above.
  • Deep expertise in the software development life cycle, system design, distributed systems, and system reliability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and execution for large-scale, complex engineering organizations.
  • Proven success building and scaling high-performing teams and establishing strong operational mechanisms.
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to make portfolio-level trade-offs and prioritize investments.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Track record of driving engineering excellence and best practices in system design, development, and operations.
  • Experience in high-growth technology companies, cloud platforms, or SaaS environments (preferred).
  • Background in architecting large-scale distributed systems and high-reliability platforms (preferred).
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and leading through significant scale or transformation (preferred).
  • Technical or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies in product development (preferred).
  • Experience managing organizational change and building culture (preferred).
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver impactful results in dynamic environments (preferred).
  • Industry certifications or continued education in engineering management or leadership (preferred).
  • Must be based remotely in India, specifically in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, or Delhi.
