Description

  • Develop and document the three-year product strategy with the CEO and CTO, including build, buy, partner, market-entry, and prioritization decisions.
  • Own and continuously manage the two-quarter roadmap and 12-month product plan, with ROI cases, dates, trade-offs, and clear accountability for delivery.
  • Maintain direct relationships with top merchants, translate recurring pain points into shipped improvements, and understand merchant funnels and needs in depth.
  • Own product relationships with payment processors, platforms, payment methods, and AI vendors; assess their roadmaps and make build, buy, or partner recommendations.
  • Track competitors and market developments, benchmark product performance, and deliver response memos within 48 hours of significant competitor or platform releases.
  • Prototype, build, test, and ship product improvements through the AI-enabled development workflow, including production PRs.
  • Set product quality, rollout, adoption, and business-impact standards across storefronts, checkout, payments, merchant OS, and Reign AI.
  • Hire, coach, and manage a high-performing product team; review key PRDs, prototypes, specifications, launches, and PRs, and address performance issues directly.
  • Partner with the CTO to align product specifications and engineering delivery, eliminate low-value work, and improve development efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience as the #1 or #2 product leader at a growth-stage company.
  • Experience owning a product area where conversion, latency, and reliability had direct economic impact for customers.
  • Demonstrated success moving a product ahead of competitors on a measurable metric.
  • Hands-on experience prototyping and shipping production software with AI agents, including tests, verification, and production deployment.
  • Experience shipping AI or LLM-powered products to production, with knowledge of determinism, evaluations, traces, and reliable systems built on non-deterministic layers.
  • Technical fluency to read PRs, understand system and architecture discussions, and work effectively with engineering leadership.
  • Experience managing relationships with major customers and technology or platform vendors, and translating market insight into written strategy.
  • Strong product judgment, customer research ability, and track record of launching adopted products and stopping low-impact initiatives.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and holding PMs and engineers accountable in a fast-paced, high-intensity startup environment.
  • Ecommerce, direct response, high-risk payments, checkout, subscription billing, DTC operations, payment-platform partnerships, or early-stage founder/operator experience (preferred).
