Description

  • Administer an existing public cloud environment by building, deploying, and maintaining servers and services in AWS.
  • Administer Linux and Windows servers.
  • Manage Puppet-controlled infrastructure.
  • Develop and build new cloud-based systems running in a public cloud.
  • Contribute to and propose infrastructure automation initiatives.
  • Investigate new cloud technology releases and assess their suitability for platform improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting technical documentation.
  • Support and maintain production systems.
  • Identify potential risk areas and compliance issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Work in a customer-focused environment and help ensure positive customer outcomes and responsible lending practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a cloud engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience developing and administering an AWS environment.
  • Experience with Linux server administration.
  • Experience with configuration management using Puppet.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Serverless.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Linux shell scripts.
  • Automation experience, including familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as AWS RDS and similar AWS-based database services.
  • Experience administering web servers such as nginx or Apache.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to propose solutions, collaborate, and gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet project timelines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough approach to developing and testing systems with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Flexible approach to new challenges and implementing new ideas.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and methods that improve operations.
  • Experience with Jira is advantageous.
  • Experience calling AWS APIs is advantageous.
  • Experience with software development technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, REST/JSON web services, and API testing tools such as Postman is advantageous.
  • Experience with continuous integration pipelines such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or AWS CodePipeline is advantageous.
