Description

  • Identify, research, and pursue potential clients across academia, bio/pharma, biotech, and industry.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calling, email outreach, tradeshows, and regional events.
  • Qualify leads based on needs, budget, and purchasing authority.
  • Nurture prospects through regular follow-up and ongoing engagement.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Manage opportunities closely and provide accurate forecasting and revenue/adoption insights.
  • Track and prioritize opportunities to keep sales cycles moving efficiently.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to close capital deals and grow consumable revenue.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to secure mutually beneficial agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science preferred.
  • 4+ years of quota-carrying outside sales experience.
  • Capital sales experience in the research tools market, with a focus on proteomics and DNA sequencing.
  • Strong relationships in pharma, biotech, and academic research organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting.
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets year over year.
  • Strong desire to win business and build long-term customer relationships.
  • Confident, energetic hunter mentality.
  • Highly adaptable, independent, and comfortable working with limited direction.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
  • Strong growth mindset and ability to pivot in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Mastery of Miller Heiman Strategic and Conceptual Selling.
  • Ability to travel 60-80%.
  • Ideally located in the San Francisco area or San Diego area; other West Coast locations will be considered.
  • Graduate degree in life sciences strongly preferred.
  • Channel sales experience preferred.

  • Estimated base salary range of $150,000 to $180,000.
