Description

  • Improve system quality by identifying issues, common patterns, and opportunities for standard operating procedures.
  • Enhance applications by recommending improvements and designing and implementing systems.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases while reviewing peer code changes.
  • Liaise with colleagues to implement technical designs.
  • Investigate and evaluate new technologies where relevant.
  • Provide written knowledge transfer materials.
  • Collaborate with teams in a hybrid or remote environment to support clinical engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience solving technical challenges across back-end and front-end systems.
  • Strong command of back-end technologies, primarily Python and GraphQL, with experience in Flask and/or FastAPI.
  • Strong command of front-end technologies, primarily React, TypeScript, and Redux.
  • Experience with other stacks such as Java, NodeJS, AngularJS, VueJS, MobX, or Django is a plus.
  • Strong experience with databases such as SQL and/or NoSQL, primarily Postgres and/or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as CircleCI, Jenkins, or TravisCI is a bonus.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure is a bonus.
  • Nice to have experience in digital imaging and medical imaging technologies, including PACS, OHIF, DICOM, FDA, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, Electronic Medical Record, and Healthlake Imaging.
  • Nice to have experience with graphic libraries such as OpenGL, Verge3D, Babylon.js, PyQt5, or Tkinter.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, equivalent experience, or evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.
  • Ability to work EST hours for remote candidates in the U.S. and Canada; Toronto-based candidates are preferred for hybrid work.

  • Base salary of $166,000 to $249,000 USD per year, depending on experience and geographic location.
