Description

  • Develop and maintain applications for AccuWeather’s Developer Platform using React, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
  • Build intuitive, responsive UI components and front-end workflows.
  • Translate complex product and business requirements into scalable, maintainable front-end solutions.
  • Integrate front-end applications with commerce platforms, APIs, payment gateways, and third-party services.
  • Work with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications to improve the developer experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end platform features.
  • Contribute to backend services and integrations that support portal functionality, API access, personalization, and documentation delivery.
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability across the front end and supporting services.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decisions.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience building production-grade applications with React and modern React patterns, including hooks and context.
  • Strong front-end fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, responsive design, and component-driven UI development.
  • Proven experience with e-commerce concepts such as product catalogs, checkout flows, payments, promotions, and personalization.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, and API lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing in Linux-based environments, including WSL, Docker, and command-line tooling.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Redocly, Swagger UI, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of C# and the .NET ecosystem, especially for integrating with internal API services.
  • Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and API gateway/developer-platform tools such as Zuplo or Zudoku.
  • Knowledge of API security best practices, including rate limiting, API keys, OAuth 2.0, and JWT.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.
