Description

  • Work inside the customer’s process and perform the operator’s job before automating it.
  • Learn client domains quickly and translate operational constraints into system design.
  • Rebuild business functions from first principles alongside client stakeholders and a Forward Deployed Executive.
  • Build and ship production AI and software systems from an existing industry blueprint baseline.
  • Own the engineering approach and outcome without relying on ticket-driven project work.
  • Evaluate non-deterministic AI systems by building or owning evaluation suites.
  • Deliver cloud-native solutions on AWS using containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate credibly with senior business and technical stakeholders on redesign and scoping decisions.
  • Apply strong AI/ML reasoning to understand model behavior and failure modes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with substantial hands-on production coding.
  • Willingness to spend weeks doing the customer’s job before writing code.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains quickly and engage deeply with operators.
  • Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production.
  • Experience building or owning evaluation suites for non-deterministic systems.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS; GCP or Azure is a plus.
  • Solid AI/ML foundations and understanding of model failure modes.
  • Hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Preferred: prior founder, CTO, or engineering leader experience returning to individual contribution.
  • Preferred: domain depth in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or asset management.
  • Preferred: consulting, professional services, or embedded customer-facing delivery experience.
  • Preferred: data platform experience with data lakes, warehouses, streaming, real-time analytics, data mesh, data contracts, governance, and data quality.
  • Preferred: MLOps and classical ML experience with PyTorch, SageMaker, and MLflow.
  • Preferred: experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or inference/serving optimization.
  • Preferred: graph database experience with Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
  • Preferred: IaC depth with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Preferred: open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
