Description

  • Own the full lifecycle of email platform migrations from discovery through go-live and post-migration QA.
  • Lead client kick-offs, manage migration timelines, communicate with stakeholders, and track milestones across multiple projects.
  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for account teams and clients on migration-related questions.
  • Audit source ESPs to document flows, campaigns, segments, suppression lists, custom fields, and data schemas.
  • Assess contact databases, tech stack connections, and deliverability baselines before migration begins.
  • Export legacy platform data, document existing automation logic, and coordinate offboarding to avoid duplicate or missed sends.
  • Configure Klaviyo account structure, user permissions, API keys, billing tiers, and tracking setup.
  • Set up and validate email sending infrastructure, including DNS, domain authentication, branded tracking links, and IP configuration.
  • Design identity resolution and profile merge logic across connected systems and validate unified profiles.
  • Manage platform integrations, API connections, webhook migrations, and consent or opt-in form migrations.
  • Migrate subscriber data, map suppressions and consent status, and ensure compliance with GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
  • Develop IP and domain warming plans, monitor sender reputation, and remediate deliverability issues.
  • Translate legacy automation logic into Klaviyo flows, rebuild campaigns and templates, and create reporting dashboards.
  • Execute QA across integrations, profiles, flows, DNS/authentication, data mapping, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Plan and execute cutover sequencing, deactivate legacy flows, and manage go-live coordination and post-launch monitoring.

Requirements

  • 3–6+ years of hands-on experience in lifecycle and CRM marketing technology, ESP migrations, and/or martech implementation.
  • Deep expertise in at least two ESPs such as Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Iterable, Braze, Mailchimp, or Attentive.
  • Hands-on experience configuring DNS records and email authentication protocols.
  • Experience with sending domain setup, subdomain delegation, and tracking link configuration.
  • Proven ability to manage API integrations, webhook configurations, and custom event setups.
  • Experience with subscriber data migrations, schema mapping, backfill logic, and suppression management.
  • Strong knowledge of IP warming, list segmentation strategy, and reputation monitoring.
  • Experience in an agency or client services environment managing multiple concurrent client projects.
  • Experience auditing and extracting data from legacy ESPs such as Mailchimp, SFMC, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Drip, Iterable, or Braze.
  • Experience defining identity resolution strategy and handling duplicate profile logic during migrations.
  • Ability to translate legacy flow or journey logic into equivalent Klaviyo automation architecture.
  • Experience building structured checklists for integration validation and testing.
  • Ability to own a cutover plan including legacy platform deactivation and go-live sequencing.
  • Proficiency in DNS management tools such as Cloudflare, Route53, GoDaddy DNS, or Google Domains.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON payloads, and webhook event structures.
  • Working knowledge of eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, or WooCommerce and their native ESP integrations.
  • Familiarity with consent management platforms such as OneTrust or Cookiebot in an email context.
  • Experience using deliverability tools such as MXToolbox, GlockApps, 250ok, or Validity/Everest.
  • Comfort with spreadsheet-based scoping, project tracking, and client documentation.
  • Klaviyo JS snippet installation and onsite tracking validation experience.
  • Experience with Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS for sender reputation monitoring.
  • Experience with Klaviyo External ID and identity resolution architecture.
  • Advanced spoken and written English proficiency is required.
  • This is an independent contractor position.
