Description

  • Build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Develop business logic using Rails conventions, ActiveRecord, controllers, and service objects.
  • Build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party and external services.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers when working with React, Vue, or Stimulus interfaces.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL or MySQL database schemas.
  • Improve database performance through indexing, caching, and query optimization.
  • Manage background jobs using Sidekiq, Resque, or similar tools.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and system tests using RSpec, Minitest, or Capybara.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
  • Monitor applications, troubleshoot production issues, and deploy fixes with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
  • Experience with background job systems such as Sidekiq or Resque.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend application architecture.
  • Experience writing automated tests and maintaining code quality standards.
  • Experience integrating React, Vue, or Stimulus with Rails applications is preferred.
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS, GCP, Heroku, or similar cloud platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to Redis, Memcached, Docker, Kubernetes, or modern DevOps workflows is preferred.
