Description

  • Build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Develop scalable business logic using Rails conventions, ActiveRecord, controllers, and service objects.
  • Design and maintain PostgreSQL or MySQL database schemas.
  • Optimize database queries, indexing, caching, and overall application performance.
  • Manage background jobs using Sidekiq, Resque, or similar frameworks.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and system tests to support code quality and reliability.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and maintain clean, maintainable codebases.
  • Support CI/CD workflows, automated deployment pipelines, and production releases.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, deploy fixes with minimal downtime, and monitor application health.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on feature scoping, architecture, and sprint planning.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
  • Experience with background job systems such as Sidekiq or Resque.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend application architecture.
  • Experience writing automated tests and maintaining code quality standards.
  • Experience integrating React, Vue, or Stimulus with Rails applications (preferred).
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS, GCP, Heroku, or similar cloud platforms (preferred).
  • Exposure to Redis, Memcached, Docker, Kubernetes, or modern DevOps workflows (preferred).
