Description

  • Build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, APIs, and background jobs.
  • Implement business logic using ActiveRecord models, controllers, and views.
  • Integrate front-end frameworks such as Stimulus, React, or Vue into Rails applications as needed.
  • Design, migrate, and maintain PostgreSQL or MySQL database schemas.
  • Optimize database queries, page load times, API response times, and background job throughput.
  • Implement indexing, caching, and background job processing with tools such as Sidekiq or Resque.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and system tests using RSpec, Minitest, or Capybara.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines support automated testing and deployment.
  • Implement authentication and authorization, and apply security and compliance best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and front-end teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver features.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, provide accurate estimates, and document code, APIs, and workflows.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and deploy hotfixes with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Proficiency in Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with background job frameworks such as Sidekiq or Resque.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with front-end integration using Stimulus, React, or Vue is preferred.
  • Experience deploying Rails applications to Heroku, AWS, or GCP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with caching tools such as Redis or Memcached is preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or e-commerce is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort working U.S. client business hours with flexibility for sprint reviews, deployments, and on-call support.
