Description

  • Build relationships with key decision makers at the district level.
  • Sell Newsela’s suite of products to school districts in the assigned region.
  • Use solution-based selling techniques and solution mapping to advance opportunities.
  • Prepare for and support school board approval processes.
  • Create, maintain, and adjust strategic account plans for key accounts.
  • Build and manage an aggressive sales pipeline and forecast business performance.
  • Design lead generation campaigns and manage sales through the full lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support account execution and growth.
  • Meet in person with school and district leaders to present solutions, negotiate terms, and secure agreements.
  • Represent Newsela in the market and make recommendations that influence strategy and revenue outcomes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of demonstrated success selling supplemental products to school districts in the K-12 market.
  • Extensive experience in networking, prospecting, and building a pipeline.
  • Experience with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Proven success forecasting business in the EdTech industry.
  • Willingness to build and grow your own book of business.
  • Ability to travel regularly to meet with customers and prospects.
  • Experience working independently with significant autonomy and sound judgment.
  • Comfort working with district-level stakeholders and school board approval processes.
  • Experience selling in a regional territory, preferably across NC, SC, VA, and WV.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $90,000 to $105,000, depending on prior experience.
  • On-target commission of $100,000.
  • On-target earnings of $190,000 to $205,000.
