Description

  • Own a territory and manage the full lifecycle of sales opportunities from lead generation through close.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers at the school district level.
  • Develop territory business plans and tailor sales strategies to district initiatives and funding landscapes.
  • Design lead generation campaigns and manage pipeline, forecasting, and revenue performance.
  • Present solutions to school and district leaders in person and negotiate terms and agreements.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support the growth of the national sales organization.
  • Evaluate customer needs and structure tailored solutions within established guidelines.
  • Represent Newsela in the market with significant autonomy and independent judgment.
  • Influence adoption and expansion of Newsela products across K-12 classrooms nationwide.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience hitting or exceeding quota selling SaaS products.
  • Experience building a book of business in a high-volume, transactional sales environment.
  • Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and develop the right solution for each customer.
  • Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and drive deals quickly to close.
  • Adaptability to learn new client bases, maintain high service standards, and meet sales goals.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet with customers and prospects.
  • Background as a teacher or strong understanding of pedagogy is a plus.
  • Experience selling to school districts or familiarity with the K-12 education landscape is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required for employment.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $70,000-$75,000.
  • On-target commission of $70,000-$75,000 and on-target earnings of $140,000-$150,000.
