Description

  • Define the technical vision and architectural blueprints for long-term business goals and core pillar projects.
  • Establish architectural governance by setting standards, conducting reviews, and managing technical risk across projects.
  • Design and evolve cloud-native systems with a focus on scalability, security, observability, and reuse.
  • Partner with product managers and integration leads to own solution design, decomposition, and trade-off decisions.
  • Define integration specifications, API contracts, and event schemas to ensure interoperability between systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical roadblocks with engineering teams and help ensure the sample-to-report lifecycle is implemented robustly.
  • Lead modernization efforts to move legacy monolithic systems toward service-oriented, event-driven architectures.
  • Develop strategies to encapsulate legacy logic using anti-corruption layers.
  • Use AI tools and partner with AI/ML teams to accelerate architecture work and integrate intelligent services.
  • Mentor senior engineers and architects while recruiting and leading a strong architecture team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years in senior architectural leadership designing enterprise-scale systems.
  • Proven experience with architectural transformation initiatives such as service decomposition, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and platform re-architecture.
  • Deep experience designing cloud-native systems in AWS.
  • Strong coding background in Java, Python, or similar languages, with the ability to read and understand code.
  • Demonstrated experience using LLMs such as GPT-4, Claude, or Copilot to accelerate technical work and documentation.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as HealthTech, MedTech, or Fintech.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and Kafka event schemas.
  • Preferred experience working in environments requiring strong rigor, observability, and regulatory compliance.
