Description

  • Understand and improve the MongoDB query engine’s existing functionality.
  • Design, implement, test, and support features for query performance, robustness, language enhancements, diagnostics, and product integrations.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality C++ code.
  • Participate in code reviews by providing and soliciting constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with peers to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Fix bugs and support releases across major and stable product versions.
  • Lead development of major features and mentor newer engineers as expertise grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems programming.
  • Hands-on experience building industrial-strength software.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
  • Experience working with large codebases, preferably in C++, C, Rust, or a similar compiled language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Interest in the theory and practice of database query engines.
  • Database or data management systems experience preferred.
  • Hands-on query engine experience or a relevant master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
