Description

  • Design and build distributed systems that unify query-processing and storage nodes into a single database.
  • Develop data-movement, data-placement, horizontal-scaling, and cluster-elasticity features.
  • Solve complex performance problems and design protocols for moving data without disruption.
  • Contribute production-quality code and participate in code and design reviews.
  • Resolve bugs and contribute to projects planned for upcoming MongoDB releases.
  • Lead development of new features and mentor new engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building distributed systems.
  • Experience writing production-level C++ code for systems with large user bases.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
  • Experience or academic background in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Understanding of modern computer architecture and system internals.
  • Industry or research experience in high-performance networking, performance tuning, observability, or system resiliency.
  • Ability to work remotely from British Columbia or Ontario, Canada.
