Description

  • Build maintainable backend and frontend code for a new product, working across the stack in roughly a 50/50 split.
  • Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product Managers to define and refine system architecture.
  • Own features end to end from concept through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to improve quality and reliability.
  • Work with Product Managers to clarify requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Contribute as a key technical voice on a new team and help shape product delivery.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 14+ years preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional backend experience with Python, Node.js, or Go in a production environment.
  • 3+ years of professional React experience.
  • Strong understanding of the modern React ecosystem, including state management, UI libraries, frameworks, and testing.
  • Experience building complex, large-scale applications.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
  • A commitment to comprehensive testing.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading or co-leading system architecture decisions is preferred.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins is preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of CAD $105,000 to $125,000, depending on experience and seniority.
  • Remote work in Canada.
  • Potential hybrid office expectations if living within commuting distance of an office, based on the company’s RTO policy.
