Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain platform services and frameworks used by product teams.
  • Build resilient, scalable backend systems using Ruby/Rails, Go, and related technologies.
  • Develop analytics, experimentation, feature flagging, and real-time server-to-client infrastructure.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy for platform services.
  • Provide technical guidance and establish engineering patterns and practices across the organization.
  • Own significant projects from concept through production launch.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate needs into platform solutions.
  • Ensure reliability and performance through monitoring, testing, incident response, and on-call support.
  • Drive continuous improvement for business-critical platform services based on operational learnings.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience at a SaaS or technology company with a strong backend and distributed systems focus.
  • Deep experience with service-oriented architecture, microservice patterns, and highly resilient, scalable systems.
  • Proven experience building and operating high-traffic, high-availability production platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in building internal tools, frameworks, and SDKs used by other engineers.
  • Experience with API design and real-time data systems such as Server-Sent Events and WebSockets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex system issues.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States, as Calendly does not provide immigration sponsorship.
  • Experience with Golang, Ruby/Rails, NodeJS/TypeScript, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Redis, preferred.

  • Expected annual base salary range of $187,000 to $271,920 USD, depending on location tier.
