Description

  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with network partners across payment, debit, ATM, and money movement ecosystems.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for maintaining the right mix of network partners across the company’s product portfolio.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership contracts to secure favorable terms, reduce risk, and ensure obligations are met.
  • Drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding offerings, and advancing innovation initiatives with partners.
  • Optimize partnership economics, including incentives, compensation structures, and other financial terms to improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including sales, product, legal, and marketing to align partnership initiatives and execution.
  • Serve as the primary senior point of contact between Marqeta and network partners, including escalation management and communication alignment.
  • Define, track, and report on KPIs to assess partnership performance and improve outcomes over time.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity, and provide recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in card payments, issuing, financial services, global partnership management, or similar roles.
  • Experience in payment network partnerships, domestic or global, or financial products/services is highly preferred.
  • Proven senior-level leadership experience managing strategic partnerships and cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience negotiating payment network commercial agreements and contract terms.
  • Strong understanding of the card payments and issuance ecosystem, including network operations, products, and incentives.
  • Deep knowledge of network economics, including interchange, assessments, and incentives.
  • Ability to develop and execute complex long-term strategies with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Base salary range of $219,900 - $274,900 nationally, $238,000 - $297,500 in Premium locations, and $258,700 - $323,400 in Premium Plus locations.
