Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure software engineers focused on Kubernetes platform engineering.
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap for the Kubernetes compute platform.
  • Drive platform modernization, operational excellence, and cost optimization across infrastructure.
  • Build a platform-as-a-product culture that treats internal engineering teams as customers.
  • Partner with application development, SRE, security, and other infrastructure teams to deliver reliable platform services.
  • Lead architectural decisions across container orchestration, service mesh, observability, and developer tooling.
  • Develop and implement FinOps and resource efficiency strategies, including chargeback/showback and budget alerting.
  • Ensure ultra-high availability of the production Kubernetes platform and establish reliability SLOs/SLIs.
  • Lead incident response, postmortems, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement for platform issues.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps roles.
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading technical teams through complex initiatives.
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes in production environments at scale, including architecture, operations, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong cloud fundamentals, with AWS preferred and experience with EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, and related services.
  • Proven track record of Kubernetes cost optimization and resource efficiency improvements.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience managing ultra-high availability production systems with 99.99%+ uptime.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies, service mesh, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in payments, financial services, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty are preferred.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) is preferred.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or AWS App Mesh is preferred.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $200,500 to $250,600 for the National tier and $210,200 to $262,800 for the Premium tier.
