Description

  • Design and execute the long-term roadmap for Lyra’s machine learning and generative AI platform.
  • Architect end-to-end training, fine-tuning, and low-latency inference platforms, including RAG, vector databases, and evaluation and guardrail frameworks.
  • Establish standards for the AI/ML SDLC, including dataset lineage, CI/CD, automated evaluation, red-teaming, and production monitoring.
  • Partner with Product Management, Data Science, Security, and Clinical leaders to turn clinical goals into AI platform roadmaps.
  • Mentor Senior ML Engineers and raise engineering practices through architectural reviews and best-practice development.
  • Lead technical prototypes, critical-path architecture work, and strategic coding contributions.
  • Contribute hands-on coding to key initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience deploying complex ML/AI solutions in mission-critical production environments.
  • Deep expertise in Python, RESTful API design, Protobuf, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and real-time inference services.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying RAG pipelines, fine-tuning LLMs, managing vector databases, and building LLM evaluation and guardrail frameworks.
  • Experience with relational databases, low-latency key-value stores, distributed queueing systems such as Celery or Kafka, and data pipeline orchestration.
  • Strong experience architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS or equivalent cloud providers.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify ambiguous technical problems and influence leadership across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Experience writing high-performance production code in Java or Kotlin (preferred).
  • Experience architecting AI/ML systems in regulated environments involving HIPAA, SOC2, PHI, or PII (preferred).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or ML tooling used by multiple data scientists and engineers (preferred).
