Description

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform and Pulumi across multiple accounts and environments.
  • Operate and evolve container platforms on ECS and EC2, including cluster architecture, autoscaling, networking, and cost optimization.
  • Drive the migration from monolithic services to microservices by decomposing services and establishing platform standards for scaffolding, CI/CD, and deployment.
  • Build internal tools and automation in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Own observability practices in Datadog, including SLOs, dashboards, alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, and convert learnings into platform improvements.
  • Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and help set technical direction for platform engineering.
  • Champion security, compliance, and reliability best practices for a healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with a strong software development background.
  • Deep production experience with Terraform and hands-on experience with Pulumi, or strong Terraform experience with the ability to ramp quickly on Pulumi.
  • Expert-level AWS knowledge, including ECS, Serverless, EC2, VPC, load balancing, DNS, IAM, and related services.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript, including testing and CI practices.
  • Direct experience decomposing monoliths or migrating platforms to microservices, including service boundaries, data migration, traffic cutover, and rollback strategy.
  • Strong observability experience with metrics, logging, tracing, and SLO design; Datadog experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, leading cross-team initiatives, and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA or SOC 2 is preferred.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms at org scale is preferred.
  • Experience with release management, deployment gates, and progressive delivery such as canary or blue/green is preferred.
