Description

  • Build the engineering roadmap for DevOps, App Security, SRE, and FinOps, balancing priorities, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Manage technical debt, dependency updates, and process health proactively.
  • Own the platforms and tooling that provide reliable, observable, production-ready foundations for other engineering teams.
  • Introspect codebases and oversee application security, data privacy, and access control concerns.
  • Build and own cloud and infrastructure cost visibility for engineering leadership and the C-suite.
  • Design and architect systems for long-term scale, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Coach and develop leaders and ICs across a multidisciplinary platform team.
  • Shape specs, resolve ambiguity, and improve documentation, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead cross-team initiatives, incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation follow-through.
  • Represent the Platform Team with a clear, cohesive voice to peer teams, product, and leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering management experience across infrastructure, systems, and application layers.
  • Deep hands-on expertise across DevOps and SRE.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release engineering practices.
  • Production experience with AWS compute, storage, and networking services.
  • Proficiency with Docker, Make, or similar build tools, plus environment scripting.
  • Fluency with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform across AWS, GCP, and Azure providers.
  • Experience driving secure coding practices, data privacy principles, and access control patterns in production systems.
  • Familiarity with security practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and secure SDLC.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and NIST CSF.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Working knowledge of incident management practices including on-call rotations, escalation, and postmortems.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost and billing platforms.
  • Familiarity with voter file data, political data, or civic/political tech is preferred.
