Description

  • Scope, plan, and lead large-scale technical initiatives aligned with business priorities and product roadmaps.
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable full-stack systems across frontend and backend.
  • Deliver production-grade features end to end while maintaining performance, security, and reliability.
  • Improve codebases through clean architecture, testing practices, deployment practices, and strong CI/CD pipelines.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across systems and services.
  • Implement and advocate for application and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate technical and non-technical ideas clearly to stakeholders and teammates.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and learning.
  • Explore emerging tools, frameworks, and AI/ML applications to improve team performance and developer experience.

Requirements

  • 8–15 years of professional software development experience.
  • Track record of shipping large-scale, high-quality features and systems.
  • Experience driving architectural decisions at the org level.
  • Strong frontend expertise in React and TypeScript.
  • Backend proficiency in Node.js; Kotlin experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and DynamoDB.
  • Deep experience with API integration and third-party API management.
  • Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability in system design, architecture, and performance optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of application and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and YAML configuration; Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and QA best practices.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching engineers and influencing without authority.
  • Experience with social networking platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as Copilot or Cursor is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as DataDog is preferred.
  • Background in rapid, iterative development environments is preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $175,000–$250,000 USD in the US or $170,000–$200,000 CDN in Canada.
  • Market-based, data-driven compensation with bi-annual review.
  • Permanent team members are eligible for various benefits plans.
  • Hybrid work designation (#LI-Hybrid).
  • Selective positions may be fully remote.
  • Office locations in Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; and Vancouver, WA.
