Description

  • Design and build backend systems that scale AI solutions for 167,000+ customers.
  • Develop reliable data collection and processing pipelines for machine learning training and inference.
  • Build and maintain production services for serving AI models.
  • Contribute to the evolution of agentic architecture to make AI agents more self-sufficient and performant.
  • Partner with product managers, machine learning engineers, and data scientists to deliver AI solutions.
  • Influence architecture decisions across async processing pipelines and distributed systems.
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, experimentation, and customer-centric product thinking.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems and distributed architectures.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI and agentic AI applications into production.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, few-shot learning, fine tuning, and evaluation.
  • Strong track record as a backend engineer building scalable, distributed systems for AI capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
  • Experience creating human and automated evaluations to ensure AI model quality.
  • Proficiency with big data tools such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.
  • Deep experience with asynchronous processing and distributed task queues such as Celery, Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Redis.
  • Strong understanding of database technologies and ORMs such as SQLAlchemy and Alembic.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS and container orchestration with Kubernetes, including infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to design and build robust APIs.
  • Ability to work autonomously, handle ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-moving startup-like environment.
  • Strong curiosity and a habit of staying current in a rapidly evolving field.
  • Comfortable collaborating directly with product managers and customers to shape solutions.
  • Nice to have: experience training ML models and deploying them in production systems.
  • Nice to have: experience in reinforcement learning.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $148,000–$222,000 USD for US locations.
  • Potential participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity may be included in the total compensation package.
  • Sign-on payments may be included in the total compensation package.
  • Comprehensive health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits, subject to eligibility.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required for onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
