Description

  • Conduct and transcribe 18-20 30-minute phone interviews per week to assess applicant motivation and program fit.
  • Review references and make recommendations regarding volunteer eligibility.
  • Use Salesforce and Outlook to manage, track, and protect confidential volunteer data.
  • Guide applicants through the intake process and provide customer service throughout their screening journey.
  • Handle call campaign support tasks such as scheduling background check appointments, rescheduling interviews, and helping complete mentor applications.
  • Maintain an efficient communications cadence and keep applicants moving through the screening pipeline.
  • Proactively communicate updates, needs, and concerns to the manager to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Participate in team calls and projects and provide input on applicant eligibility and screening processes.
  • Follow all risk management, youth development, and screening compliance standards and internal communication norms.
  • Support other screeners and managers with tasks such as reference checks, interview coverage, and data entry.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in nonprofits, customer service, communications, social sciences, HR, and/or college admissions.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and be self-directed.
  • Strong organization and time management skills for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Transcription speed of at least 40-60 WPM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with empathy, diplomacy, and the ability to communicate across difference.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, strategic, proactive, and open to feedback.
  • Interest in social impact, youth development, and educational opportunities.
  • Alignment with iMentor’s values and mission.
  • Must reside in one of the eligible states or Washington, D.C.: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

  • Salary equivalent to $52,000 annually, prorated for the seasonal term.
  • Fully remote work arrangement with home internet required.
