Description

  • Serve as the primary legal partner for the Strategic Alliances team and manage strategic partnership agreements end-to-end from term sheet through execution.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close complex bespoke partnership and alliance agreements.
  • Advise the business on complex commercial deal structures that are legally sound and commercially effective.
  • Partner with Legal team members to create reusable templates, repeatable workflows, and self-service materials for standard partnership questions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional legal support on deals that span multiple legal teams and establish a clear DRI model.
  • Build go-to-market legal materials such as playbooks, FAQs, standard positions, and communication templates for partner-facing teams.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the partner ecosystem, including data sharing, marketplace compliance, and international partnership regulations.
  • Proactively advise business stakeholders on legal risk and practical paths forward.
  • Help scale the legal infrastructure supporting HubSpot’s partnership business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience in-house, at a law firm, or both.
  • Significant experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial partnership and alliance agreements.
  • Experience serving as the primary legal partner to a strategic alliances and business development team.
  • Experience standing up a legal function from inception.
  • Deep understanding of technology partnership deal structures.
  • Ability to manage complex deals independently from structuring and term sheet through negotiation and execution.
  • Experience supporting teams that are building a new function and need proactive execution advice.
  • Strong commercial orientation with the ability to structure legal positions that enable business outcomes.
  • Proven experience integrating AI tools into day-to-day legal practice to improve efficiency and response quality.
  • Working knowledge of the evolving AI and privacy regulatory landscape, including data protection frameworks and emerging AI governance requirements.
  • Ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience with marketplace, app store, or developer ecosystem programs, preferred.
  • Familiarity with data sharing, API usage, and integration issues in technology partnerships, preferred.
  • Experience working with product, privacy, or security legal teams on technically complex partnership agreements, preferred.
  • Comfort building scalable legal infrastructure as part of the role, preferred.
  • Experience at a SaaS or technology company with a large partner or ecosystem business, preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual cash compensation range of $245,410 to $392,700 USD.
  • Cash compensation may include base salary, on-target commission for eligible roles, and annual bonus targets.
  • Some roles are eligible for HubSpot’s equity plan and restricted stock units (RSUs).
  • Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
  • Individual compensation packages are tailored to skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
