Description

  • Manage end-to-end technical delivery for program launches, including scoping, requirements, configuration, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and closeout.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Research, Engineering, and Data teams to align systems with program objectives and field conditions.
  • Debug and resolve issues across the technology stack, including recipient databases and offline survey applications.
  • Scope and manage systems improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, or recipient experience.
  • Ensure systems meet data protection, privacy, and financial control standards.
  • Manage technical training and onboarding for operations staff and collaborators.
  • Lead retrospectives on program launches and technical incidents to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze, structure, and apply program data to support operational decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in areas such as project management, product management, data analytics, international development, or management consulting.
  • Strong data skills, including extracting, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data.
  • Strong project management experience managing timelines, stakeholders, and complex deliverables.
  • Advanced comfort with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Intermediate experience with a programming or scripting language, commonly Python, for workflow automation, data validation, or business logic.
  • Interest in technology, systems design, and building operational solutions.
  • Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and structured problem-solving skills focused on identifying root causes.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Fluency in English and strong alignment with GiveDirectly’s values.
  • Ability to travel approximately 2–3 times per year for field visits and team retreats.
  • Preferred: Experience with relational databases such as SQL.
  • Must overlap with an East Africa timezone by at least three hours; U.S. or U.K. visa sponsorship is unavailable.
